MIBio 2016: Stability of biopharmaceuticals – From molecular interactions to successful products
Wednesday 9th November 2016 - Magdalene College, Cambridge
The MIBio conference series engages world leading experts from industry and academia in a discussion on how the latest molecular interaction based discoveries can be exploited in biopharmaceutical formulation to produce more effective, patient-friendly and safer therapeutic products.
With the increasing number of biopharmaceutical products in the pipeline, formulation as well as drug-device integration are becoming important issues. Only products that combine an excellent stability profile and a convenient delivery device will succeed in the increasingly competitive market place. The aim of the MIBio series is to facilitate a discussion about the latest advances in molecular interactions, formulation strategies and device development and to assist in effective translation of these advances into state-of the-art biopharmaceutical development.
MIBio 2016 will focus on discussing present and future drug-device development and the need for creative formulation to support successful product strategies. This will include formulation strategies for new product formats, use of novel excipients and the use of computational approaches in the formulation and drug delivery design, as well as regulatory and strategic implications of these new approaches. Seven key experts in the field will present during the day on these topics, and, as is traditional in the MIBio series, there will be opportunities for audience participation in the discussion of these important matters.
MIBio 2016 as in previous years expects more than 100 industrial and academic research attendees to create an interesting and stimulating event fostering new collaborations and discoveries that will help steer the development of the next generation of formulation technologies. We will be inviting abstracts for poster submissions and welcome applications for sponsor and exhibitor slots on the day. We look forward to seeing you at MIBio 2016!
MIBio 2016 is organised by the Formulation Science and Technology Group (FSTG) and the Joint Colloids Group (SCI) of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) together with the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences (APS), with valuable assistance from the Health Tech and Medicines Knowledge Transfer Network (Health KTN). The event will be held on 9th November 2016, Cripps Court, Magdalene College, Cambridge, UK.
The MIBio 2016 organising committee is:
